WOMEN OF THE HILLS
I was inspired by a painting I saw of a face in a hill. I wanted to create an animation where you have these beautiful, colorful hills that are crying, and have these dark silhouettes dig into them, portraying how we as a human kind are hurting our natural world.
Using the parallax effect in Adobe After effects, I separated these layers at different distances from each other and had the camera travel through those layers.
Like all my projects I start with ideating on what I want to create. The goal was to learn the parallax effect, but the visuals could be anything.
So I started sketching and came up with 3 very different ideas and a bright color palette. I decided on the hills with faces. I illustrated the landscape in procreate, making sure to have certain layers grouped, and creating a lot of texture. Then I created the black silhouette in procreate dream, animated it, and exported it as a looping GIF.
I imported all of the layers and the GIF, and created a parallax effect.
